They say about the people of Dobrnjac:
they are good people,
good luck to them,
God grant it.
May their grain,
goats and cows,
always bring them money.
May their beehives be full
and their houses full of children.
May their mills churn
and their songs ring out.
May God grant it,
until we are all under the watchful eye...

Dobrnje, a compact, star-shaped village in the municipality of Petrovac na Mlavi, has a rich history and significant cultural heritage. Located at an altitude of 160 to 240 meters above sea level, where a stream called Reka flows through the village, Dobrnje has always been a place of hardworking people and historical turmoil.
The current population of Dobrnje is mainly from Kosovo, Timočka Krajina, Crna Reka, Ćuprija, Brestovac and Paraćin, which gives this village a rich ethnographic mosaic.
Education and natural rarities
Dobrnje boasts one of the oldest educational institutions not only in the municipality but also in the entire Braničevo district. The village school was opened back in 1832, which testifies to the early aspiration of the locals towards literacy and education.
In addition to history, the village also hides natural rarities.
East of the settlement lies the Dobrnjska (also known as Popova) Bučina, a ravine about 350 meters long. This is one of the lowest localities in Serbia where beech forests thrive, growing at an altitude of only about 100 meters, which is a true ecological phenomenon.

Stevan Todorović Dobrnjac, the Moravian prince, has a similar life path to his older brother Petar Todorović Dobrnjac. As the leader of the failed rebellion against Prince Miloš in 1821, he left Dobrnjac forever in 1823. There is a fairly extensive archive material about Stevan Todorović Dobrnjac. In addition to the archive material, the authors used numerous historical literature relating to the Second Serbian Uprising and the reign of Miloš Obrenović, as well as oral tradition, which is much more preserved in Dobrnjac than about his brother, Duke Petar Todorović.
It would be unfair to the Todorović family if this work did not mention Petar's third brother Nikola. There are few written records of Nikola Todorović Dobrnjac, as he is not mentioned anywhere as a rebel or any kind of centurion, but only as a merchant. Since he lived in the shadow of his two famous brothers, Duke Petar and Prince Stevan, there is no oral tradition about him in Dobrnjac, although he is the only one of the Todorović brothers who has living descendants today.
The graves of Duke Petar Todorović and his brothers, the Moravian Prince Stevan Todorović and the merchant Nikola Todorović, are located far from Dobrnjac, scattered throughout Bessarabia and Wallachia.
The people of Dobrnjac have raised an ethical question for the umpteenth time.

The "Mlavski kraj" and the slopes surrounding Dobrnje provide exceptional agro-ecological conditions for the development of fruit growing and viticulture. A favorable wind rose, a specific microclimate and a high-quality soil composition make this part of the Braničevo district ideal for the establishment of modern plantations.
A special emphasis in the development of local agriculture is placed on the restoration of vineyards. By following modern agrotechnical measures and proper nutrition, top yields are achieved. Experience shows that, due to the specific climate on the route to Vitovnica, varieties such as Muscat Hamburg give extraordinary results here, offering high quality fruit, whether used as a table variety or for further processing.
Support for farmers: The local community council continuously monitors and informs residents about:
Current competitions and state subsidies for establishing new perennial plantations.
Opportunities for purchasing high-quality, certified grapevine grafts and fruit seedlings.
Education and advice on the implementation of adequate crop and plant protection systems.
Our goal is to help every farm get the most out of this fertile Mlava land through association and information.
